Full Text

MADRID, Feb. 3. The Decree by which the King has interdicted all Commerce with the Hamburghers, is actually executed in all Points, his Majesty not having yet judged it proper to make any Alteration in it. The Hamburgh Merchants and Factors that were here and in the Maritime Towns, depart successively; however, we must not infer from the rigorous Execution of that Decree, that the King will have no Regard to the Intercession of several great Powers; on the contrary, his Majesty has made Answer thereto in such Terms as must have convinced those Powers, that their Representations have great Weight with him. But as yet there is no Agent here duly authorized by the City of Hamburgh; and moreover, the Court's Temper is very much ruffled at the News that the Presents of the Said City to the Algerines are Safely arrived, and that both in Quantity and Quality they have exceeded the Expectations of those Barbarians.

It appears that Mr. Keene daily meets with some fresh Obstacles in his Negotiations, and it is highly probable that the Sun may make another Revolution in the Zodiack, before his Excellency can boast of any Success.
