Miss Flora Dix and Dorothy Justis are visiting their aunt, Mrs. I. B. Clark. Mr. Robert Core, who has been out of town for several days, has re- turned. Dr. John Kellam, who has been in Baltimore. Md., for treatment, has re- turned and is improving. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Mason, who spent Christmas in Pocomoke City, have returned to this place. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wescott, of Washington, D. C., were the guests of his mother, Mrs. Annie Wescott, during Christmas. Mr. T. P. Copes has sold his beauti- ful home to the members of the Bap- tist Church for a parsonage and will give them possession in thirty days. The annual Christmas meeting of the W. C. T. U. was held with the president, Mrs. L. J. Savage. After a short business meeting refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Farmer wish to announce the birth of a daughter, Phyllis Frances. Mr. Jack Trower, who is in Sarah Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, continues about the same. Mrs. Frank Hyslup has returned from the Woman's Hospital, Balti- more, after a week's treatment, much improved. Mr. C. M. Byrd attended the poul- try show in Norfolk this week. He had a number of birds on exhibition and brought home several prizes. Mr. and Mrs. J. Brooks Mapp en- tertained on Friday Dr. and Mrs. Jno Mapp and on Sunday in honor of Sen- ator and Mrs. G. Walter Mapp before they left for Richmond, Va. Mr. George Hyslup visited Norfolk to have his eyes attended to and was accompanied home by Mrs. Hyslup; who has been visiting their daughter, Mrs. Henry Byrd, of Portsmouth, and on Saturday attended the Colonna- Lewis marriage, in Exmore. The ladies of Oak Grove and Kel- ler Missionary society will hold an apron and handkerchief social on Fri- day night, January 27, in the Red Men's Hall. Pie, coffee and candy will be on sale. If weather is in- clement come the next night.
