Some of our loco friends appear quite uneasy from the expectation that Mr. Corwin is about to address the people at this place on the 27th inst. Some of the more rabid, for the purpose of deterring the people from attending the meeting, declare that he will not be present. They need not be uneasy--it will not be as they wish. Mr. Corwin will be here. We copy his letter below:

Lebanon, 13th Sept. 1847.

Gentlemen--I received a day or two since, your letter inviting me to be present at a meeting of the people, at Richmond, on the 27th of this month. I know of nothing which is likely to prevent me from complying with your request. I shall therefore be with you on the 27th, unless some unforeseen and inevitable accident, shall prevent me.

Very truly, yo' ob't serv't.

THOMAS CORWIN.

Messrs. D. P. Holloway & others.
