PANTHER KILLS A COLT.
Residents of Adirondacks Alarmed by Reappearance of Mountain Lion.
Gloversville.-The residents of Hope Falls, Hamilton county are not venturing out for walks along the wooded roads of that neighborhood after dark unarmed of late.
The cries of a panther have been heard in that vicinity and Deputy Sheriff S. M Brownell of Hamilton county, living at the Falls. recently found one of his blooded colts in a field partially devoured by the animal.
Panthers have been considered as practically extinct in the lower Adirondacks for years.
