AURORA BOREALIS.

The celestial exhibition last night, was not, as an enthusiastic Democrat declared, a heavenly illumination in honor of the political redemption of Indiana; but a big show of the "northern lights," or Aurora Borealis.

There are several theories as to the cause of those lights; that which is most generally accepted in the Fourth ward, being the following: A combination of geological volcanoes going up in inverted pyramids, colliding with the satellite of the sun and becoming pulverized into infinitesimal particles, which on entering the sunshine and fractionalize themselves to light. Of a Cairo observer, Hence, the light.

The exhibition, last night, was the most beautiful we ever beheld. The first dash was some what short of zenith. The illumination gathered breadth and height and mounted to a point slightly west of north, where it assumed a deep ruby hue; and formed one of the grandest sights we ever beheld. It was visible during an interval of twenty or twenty-five minutes.
