VERBAL FOOTWORK
Gov. Treats School Problem Lightly
There's been a lot of talk about school development, but the Governor's done nothing to meet this tremendous problem.
He's talked about minimum salaries for teachers, about setting standards for the number of pupils in a class; about more classroom buildings. But he's never sought in any way to implement his program.
After telling the needs, he forgot about them.
Not once has the Governor sought to bring the schools and local governments together with the State to solve the school problems once and for all.
That's why there is no long-range program for school development.
