An old lady named Butler, was lately found dead on the banks of the Lea, county of Essex. She was the last of thirteen children, neither the father of whom, nor one of his offspring had died natural deaths. The father was executed for giving a false account of the route of the Pretender's army, in 1745. Two of the sons were executed during the Irish rebellion. One hanged for robbery: two committed suicide. Another sister was found dead: another suffocated in a room for drying malt. Two more suffered death for plundering at the Siege of Valenciennes. The others, employed in the navy, came to premature deaths.
