Event Details
Returning to Fairbanks from an examination of mining property in the Cache Creek district, Merle Guise reported that all the small hydraulic plants are still nozzling in with a fair head of water, but the operators are preparing to close down shortly as things are freezing up at night. Good cleanups are reported from the new hydraulic plants on Bird and Bear Creeks. The new washing plant which Mr. Guise designed and installed on Peters Creek this spring for use on gumbo and bouldery ground has been handling a thousand yards a shift and has long since cleared itself. A number of alterations in the rig are contemplated for next season, to further improve the yardage.
