Tennessee Legislature.
SENATE.
Tuesday, May 1.—The Senate was called to order at 9 A. M., Speaker Frierson in the Chair.
The consideration of the Senate Franchise bill was resumed.
Mr. Carrigan offered an amendment that the elective franchise be not extended to negroes until ten years after the passage of the bill. Laid on the table—17 yeas, 3 noes.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Tuesday, May 1.—The House was called to order at 9 o'clock.
No. 229: Authorizing the Judiciary Committee to inquire if there is any relief for the citizens of the State who have paid to the Confederate authorities under the confiscation act debts due to Northern creditors. Adopted and referred to the Judiciary Committee.
No. 227: That as many counties of the State are without representation in the State Legislature, by the recent action of the House, in excluding from their seats all those who had resigned their seats and were re-elected, therefore
Resolved, That the Clerk of the House be instructed to transmit to the Governor a list of all vacancies which now exist, and that he take action to fill the same immediately.
After some little discussion, the resolution was lost by a vote of ayes 23, noes 32.
