Full Text
We learn with pleasure, that S. M. Cornwell has again taken the field as a candidate for the House of Delegates. As a pure unadulterated, life-long Democrat he is without a peer in the county of Barbour. As a representative, his record has not a single stain upon it. In the old dark and bloody days Cornwell kept the constitution before him as the guide star of his political actions. In the impeachment difficulties of West Virginia, he voted constantly for the punishment of the knaves that had dragged the honor of our State at the tail of their rascally schemes. In saying that Cornwell is honest and pure, we do not wish to be understood as casting a single doubt upon the honesty of Mr. C.'s opponent, because we are glad to say, that we have two honest democrats before us and wish we could vote for both.
