CAMPAIGN ENDORSED
A movement for a state wide publicity campaign, initiated some time ago by the Newberry chamber of commerce and endorsed by the State Association of Commercial Secretaries, is beginning to take form.
Secretary Moon, who is president of the State Association of Commercial Secretaries, has been in correspondence with Mr. Robert Lathan of Charleston, president of the State Press association, and Mr. Harry Calhoun of Barnwell, president of the State Bankers association, relative to the movement.
Through the correspondence, a meeting has been arranged, and on next Monday, December 7, at 2 o'clock, in Columbia, at the Jefferson hotel, the executive committees of the State Press association and State Bankers association, with the executive committee of the State Association of Commercial Secretaries, will get together and see if some plan can not be worked out which will give South Carolina the much needed publicity.
A great deal of interest is being taken in the movement, and from time to time editorials have appeared in different papers of the State advocating a State wide publicity campaign and it is generally believed that now is the logical time for the campaign to be made possible, but it is going to take money to finance the movement, and this is going to be a real problem for the committees to solve when they meet in Columbia.
Mr. B. C. Matthews, president of the local chamber of commerce, will accompany Mr. Moon to Columbia and attend the meeting.
