From a gentleman just from Marshall we learn that the following nominations were made at the Democratic primaries held on last Saturday.
For Representative- First district- Hon. B. E. McDaniel. Second district- Samuel Davis.
For Sheriff- John R. Cason.
For Circuit Clerk- George W. Lankford.
For presiding judge of the county court- Bell O'Rear.
For Prosecuting Attorney- Dean D. Diggins.
For Recorder- M. C. Sandidge.
Mr. Sandidge received the nomination by a plurality vote of one. Mr. Boyer got the next highest number and went before the committee asking a re-count of the vote in the Marshall precinct, which the committee promptly declined to grant. There will be no contest as Mr. Boyer is said to be too good a Democrat to kick up a rumpus when beaten in a fair square race- even though by only one vote.
The ticket is a good one. There was great excitement manifested, as it creates quite a revolution amongst the officials in old Saline. A number who have long held offices will now step down and out.
