A PARAGRAPH.—Probably there are few oases in this country where five generations of a family are living at one time. Rev. A. W. Stewart, of Tacoma, and his descendants furnish an instance. Mr. Stewart, who is 91 years old, and who still retains his bodily and mental vigor to a surprising degree, is the father of Mrs. S. D. Ruddle, of Olympia; Mrs. Ruddle is the mother of Mrs. D. R. Bigelow, also of this place, who is the mother of two married daughters—Mrs. Royal, of Ashland, Oregon, and Mrs. Bonney, of Tacoma, who are also mothers, their children being the fifth generation. Mr. Stewart is a lineal descendant of the Scottish kings. He and his father before him never used tobacco or liquor in their lives, which probably accounts for his long life and activity.—Olympia Transcript.
