Full Text
We have been informed by a gentleman who has devoted considerable attention to the culture of grapes that the Diana grape has advantages over the Catawba and Isabella. He is under the impression that it is equally as hardy, whilst it is earlier, sweeter, and contains more in the bunch than either the Isabella or Catawba. He is of the opinion that it will make better wine, and is now trying the experiment to determine. As our people are beginning to turn their attention, more than heretofore, to the culture of this most delicious fruit, it would be well for them to ascertain which kind it would be best to cultivate.
Mr. Wm. B. Crawford has presented us with some fine grapes of the kind of which we have been speaking.
