Railroad Company Decides to Continue the Popular Sunday Excursion Rate to Meacham - Begins May 2 and Continues Until September 6 - One Dollar for Round Trip-Excursion Has Been Popular in Past.

Local Agent E. F. Schuyler of the O. R. & N. has been authorized to put the Meacham excursion rates for the summer into effect May 2 and continue until September 26. The rate for the round trip will be one dollar, tickets being sold Sunday mornings only and good only for the date of sale.

These are the same rates and the same conditions which have been in effect during every summer for several years. It was reported, however, that the railroad officials had decided to abandon the plan this summer. In response to a number of inquiries, Mr. Schuyler took the matter up with the assistant general passenger agent with the result that he has been authorized to begin the sale of tickets the morning of the first Sunday in May.

Scores of Pendleton people have availed themselves of the opportunity thus offered of spending a Sunday in the mountains in the past and it is expected that the number of excursionists will be large this year, even though the time at which the morning train passes through Pendleton is not nearly so convenient as in the past. Those who enjoy fishing, however, will not be daunted by the early hour at which they will be compelled to arise.
