POPULAR VOTE OF STATE CANDIDATES
CONSOLIDATION MADE WITHOUT RETURNS FROM MUSCOGEE.
SPEER LEADS FIELD.

Consolidation of the popular vote of the state—minus Muscogee county, from which figures have not yet been received—shows some surprises, one of them that the total vote this year was somewhat in excess of the total vote polled in the primary two years ago. At that time the state total was approximately 212,700. The total vote this year, minus the missing county, is approximately 221,000.

The highest vote was polled by State Treasurer Speer, who got 220,517 votes.

The vote for uncontested offices, exclusive of Muscogee, was:

Walker 219,440
Wright 220,023
McLendon 219,461
Speer 220,517
Napier 220,008
Stanley 219,080
Patterson 218,422

In the race for commissioner of agriculture Commissioner J. J. Brown defeated Hunnicutt by 29,287 votes, Brown's vote being 123,615 and Hunnicutt's 94,326.
