Omaha, Neb., Sept. 21.—General Schofield, accompanied by General Tompkins and General Sanger, passed through Omaha last night, en route from Chicago to the scene of the Chinese trouble at Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was met at the depot by General Howard and General Manager Callaway and Superintendents Smith and Dorrence of the Union Pacific, with whom a long consultation was held. The Chinese will be put to work to-morrow morning at 7 o'clock along with the white miners who desire to go to work with them. All will be protected by the military. All is quiet at Rock Springs to-day. The result of to-morrow's resumption of work at the mines is awaited with considerable interest.
