FARMERS NEED SILOS
The shipment of cream from towns west of the river is growing amazingly. Philip reports 197 cans in one day, nearly $2000 left among the farmers of that section.
This is permanent improvement and development. When this harvest is made the farmer still has the cow, and can repeat the harvest every day. When it is realized that these quick returns on the part of our people to get away from the annual harvest where they have to wait a whole season for crops to ripen or more than one year for animals to reach marketing conditions, it is all right to raise the yearly crop and grow the stock, that will have a market demand, but milking should get more cows and every farmer should have a silo to supply feed for these milk cows. It pays everywhere and that is one of the best things that can happen to this country, to begin booming the silo campaign. Many people can now see what the cows will do, but by adding the silo they have demonstration of still greater benefits.— Pierre Capitol Journal.
