THE UPPER ROOM
"All things are yours." I Cor. 3:21. (Read I Cor. 3:18-23.)
We live in a world in which there is much hunger and want. Yet it is not the will of the Heavenly Father that any of His children should go hungry or naked.
In His goodness, God has provided sufficient store to meet the needs of all His children. Our human miseries are man-made, and are caused by greed, war, selfishness, and man's inhumanity to man.
Likewise, the Heavenly Father who made us can supply all our spiritual needs. He knows perfectly what all these needs are. He offers to supply them freely. Paul says: "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
We need only to "ask, seek, knock" in faith to receive God's abundant supply. We need not be spiritually poor. We may live like children of the Heavenly King. "All things are yours." We ignore our birthright when we fail to avail ourselves of the goodness of God. The divine supply of cleansing, peace, and power is ready and waiting for us.
PRAYER
Dear Father, help us to look to Thee in faith to supply all our needs, physical and spiritual, this day. In Jesus' name we ask it. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"At the devil's booth are all things sold.
Each ounce of dross costs its ounce of gold;
'Tis heaven alone that is given away,
'Tis only God may be had for the asking."
James Russell Lowell.
