Much Needed.

In constructing the addition to the City Hall one department is to be arranged for a woman's calaboose. The room will be ten feet wide and about sixteen feet long, and is to be finished off in such shape as will be suitable as a place of confinement of all those who are unfortunate enough to fall into the hands of the law, and when justice to the public requires that they be locked up. This is a much needed improvement on the old order of things, as heretofore there was but one department to the calaboose, and both women and men had to be locked up in the same place, which was really a most unjust thing to do.
