HONOLULU, July 12 (U.P.)—Plans for a two stop flight from Honolulu to New York were revealed to the United Press today by Erik Wilhelm Friman, Swedish aviator.
The flight, by Friman and co-pilot as yet unnamed, will probably start from the Barking sands on the island of Kauai, Friman said.
Although it is understood here that a group of Los Angeles capitalists are sponsoring the proposed flight, Friman said he was merely consummating previous plans made by himself and Vance Breese, prominent Pacific coast airman.
He refused to say if Breese was connected with the project, but intimated that Herbert Fahy, Lockheed test pilot whose plane he proposes to use, might be involved.
The Lockheed plane, according to Friman, has a maximum speed of 200 miles an hour and a cruising speed of 175 miles an hour. The craft is to be equipped with radio apparatus and is to have a fuel capacity of 550 gallons of gasoline.
From the Barking sands the flight would be made direct to Crissy Field at San Francisco, the aviators utilizing the army air beacon to keep on a direct course, Friman explained.
The plane would be refueled at San Francisco, then flown to Los Angeles and refueled again, and then the flight to New York attempted.
Stops at the two Pacific coast cities would be only long enough to complete fueling operations.
