What Colored Children can do.

We copy from the Herald of Freedom, the following extract of a letter from J. H. Kimball, who is on a visit to the West Indies. He had been giving an account of a delightful ride out in the country at Antigua, and says,

"We returned about 11 o'clock to town, and attended by invitation the annual meeting of 'a Juvenile Female Association, which has existed for 21 years. There were forty misses present, all but one colored, and as interesting and intelligent girls as I ever saw. None were above 15 years of age. The object of the society is to relieve the poor, and contribute to other benevolent associations. Since its organization it has raised funds in all amounting to upwards of $1100. In 1816 it raised 12l; in 1834, 26l; in 1835, 36l; in 1836, 57l. Does not the increase speak well for freedom? The number of members at the present time is 50. Is there an association of 50 white children in the U. S. that has contributed to benevolent objects the past year 57l or $120? These children have paid $85 to assist in building a new Wesleyan chapel which is erecting on a noble plan- the present being too small. I hope you will tell this to our juvenile friends in Concord."
