CUT OFF INDIAN'S EARS

John Johnnie, a noble Indian brave of the Shoshone tribe of Austin, this morning entered the emergency hospital in the city hall and requested Dr. C. E. Mosser, the city physician to amputate his ears.

"Hey, Doc," said the red man, as he entered the doors, "My ears heap too big, you cut um off. My girl Sunshine Minnie she no likem this way. She like little ears all same other Injun and all same white man."

The physician examined the Indian's ears and discovered that the lobes were much larger than the lobes of the ordinary human ear. He made a thorough examination and found that the ears could be reduced in size without any great difficulty. He so informed Johnnie and the Indian climbed on the operating table and demanded that the operation proceed. - Gazette.
