Full Text

The Yell candidates kick up a good deal against our paper. No wonder, when they are obliged to wince under the merited rebukes which their disorganizing conduct has brought down upon them from us.

This paper—though it may be "little," as the Yell men say, is the same it was in 1844, and bears the same flag, obeys the same pure democratic principles which won the memorable victory of that period. Little as it is, it is able to defend itself, and so its opposers may find. We ask the approbation of the people, of the democratic party—not of a selfish partisan clique.
