Westerly was represented at the meeting of the state, county and division officers of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Rhode Island, held in Providence. Mrs. Ellen Ryan Jolly, of Pawtucket, former national president, gave a talk on Love of Ireland. Resolutions were adopted endorsing the proposed drive for the aid of Providence college and pledging the support of the organization. Mrs. Jolly paid tribute to the Dominican Order, reviewing its history for the past seven centuries. She reminded her hearers that it was an Irish Dominican who said the first mass in America in 1492. It is this order that is in charge of the Providence college.

The banquet committee made a report concerning the observance of the feast of St. Columkill to be held Sunday, June 13. The state chairman of Irish history was authorized to secure diplomas for Irish history excellence for all contestants which will be given to all candidates who attain the per cent. of excellence decided upon by the examining board.
