BALTIMORE, August 4.

More British Aggression!

On Monday the 27th ult, arrived at Norwich, (Conn.) the mate and three people belonging to the schr. Betsey, capt. Cary, which left that place a few weeks since on a fishing voyage. They state that several days after their departure, they fell in with a British cutter mounting 8 twelve pounders and 14 swivels, who after firing three guns, which passed very near them, boarded, armed with pistols and cutlasses ---after considerable abuse they ransacked her hold, starting barrels of cider, buns, provisions, &c. Not content with this, these myrmidons cut their cod lines in pieces, rendering the Betsey completely unfit for her intended voyage.

And to complete the whole, the crew were all (except the captain) carried on board the cutter and detained 24 hours, without any thing to eat or drink. The schooner has arrived at Plymouth.

It is an interesting fact, which appears to have been forgotten, that the British frigate Leopard, is the ship which was sent out by the British government to succeed the Leander, upon her being recalled, in consequence of the misconduct of her commander Whitby!--Baltimore American.
