In pointing out the advantages of the proposed school site it was stated that of the 217 high school pupils who live in Putnam 173 or 63.8% live to the west of the present high school, or on the way to the new site.
Mr. Murphy pointed out that after a scientific study of the present high school population, the findings support the earlier statement that the center of high school population is a point southwest of the present high school. Ninety seven high school pupils live southwest of the high school, 76 live to the north west, 71 live to the south east and 27 live to the north east, and 63 come in from Pomfret through the western section to the city.
