For New Camp
Some 100 East Hartford volunteers are working to raise $15,000 from public contributions for the new summer camp of the Boy Scouts at Lake of Isles.
The Charter Oak Council's over-all $500,000 campaign for the development of the 960-acre tract near North Stonington is swinging into its last two weeks with the final report meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 4.
The campaign in East Hartford and neighboring towns is under the chairmanship of John Q. Goodrich of Glastonbury. Assisting him as district chairmen are Frank Miller of Manchester and Robert L. Keeney, Jr. of Somersville.
Participating communities in the area are East Hartford, Manchester, Bolton, Andover, Glastonbury, Hebron, Marlborough, Thompsonville, Somers, East Windsor, South Windsor, Ellington, Tolland, and Rockville.
Group chairmen for East Hartford itself are as follows: Edward McCabe, George E. Wood, Roy R. Powers, Jr., Wesley C. Carroll, Peter W. Spellacy, R. J. Alexander, J. Albert Akerlind, and Ralph Secord.
Team captains in East Hartford include Edward LaFranchise, Herbert Cruickshanks, Val D. Santhouse, R. Wayne Newkirk, Carl W. Trewhella, William C. Caplin, Robert Laurent, John Lancaster, Joseph Lysik, Thomas Ciccalone, George Dunn, Robert Saunders, Robert White, Robert B. J.
