Perjury Trial
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16. (UP)
The new trial on perjury charges of Garland Biffle, a witness in the assault case against Alexander Pantages, theater man, today was set for January 20 by Superior Judge William Aggeler. The jury at the first trial was deadlocked.
Biffle was arrested just after he left the courtroom after testifying in defense of Pantages who was found guilty of attacking 17-year-old Eunice Pringle.
Biffle asserted he heard Miss Pringle intimating that she intended to force Pantages to place her on the stage. Prosecution witnesses said Miss Pringle was in another place at the time Biffle said he overheard her.
