These two American officers played a part in finding Hitler's hoard of gold, U. S. currency and paintings cached in the 2,100-foot salt mine at Merkers, Germany. Lt. Col. William L. Russell (left), of Chevy Chase, Md., is the military government officer in whose district the salt mine is located. Maj. Frank Brick (right), of New York City, U. S.
