Preparations are being made in the County Health Department to care for the increased work of the Tuberculosis Division during the X-ray Survey which begins January 12 in both the County and the District of Columbia. Mrs. Dorothy A. Vane, R. N., formerly a Department staff nurse, will be appointed, effective January 1st, to assist with the survey. County residents are urged to plan to take advantage of the opportunity which will be offered for free x-rays during the survey.
Dr. William F. Wagner, Director, Bureau of Tuberculosis Control for Virginia, visited the Tuberculosis Division of Montgomery County Health Department last week, to discuss matters concerning tuberculosis with Dr. Karl Welte, Director of the Division for the County. Cooperation between adjoining Counties and States is of the utmost importance in the control of tuberculosis, inasmuch as patients sometimes travel about however much the health authorities try to make clear to them the risk to themselves and others.
