Conference of Consuls
Washington, July 11.-A. K. Tingle, chief of the special agents division of the treasury department, and M. D. Hiell, a special of the department in Europe, have been delegated to represent the treasury department on the occasion of the conference of United States consuls general now in Europe, to be held at Paris early next month, for the purpose of discussing matters affecting the administration of the laws and regulations applicable to the consular service.

Mr. Blaine says he feels assured that the final outcome of the labors of the convention will be of such a character as to greatly increase the efficiency of the consular service in all respects and to in a great degree control and render impossible the practice of undervaluation.
