Statement From Fruit-Growers.
Eds. Record-Union: The undersigned, fruit-growers of the American River district, desire, through the columns of your paper, to deny the statement made by R. D. Stephens that the resolutions adopted at a recent meeting of such fruit-growers, denouncing a rival auction-house in New York, and the National Fruit Association for patronizing the same, were adopted or voted for through the influence or coercion of the Earl Fruit Company.
The Earl Fruit Company did not in any way influence or seek to control us in voting for such resolution, and we voted for them only because we thought they were right, and for the best interests of ourselves and the State:
