Lt. Stanley R. Morgan, officer in charge of the local ACS station, reports that night letter service, which had been suspended because of the increased use of the Alaska Communication Service by the War Department has been resumed. since March 20th. and that since April 1st the tax on messages has increased to 25 percent.
The night letter rate for 50 words will be the same as that for the 10-word fast day message. and is of such a nature that it cannot be delivered until the following calendar day regardless of the time of day the message is filed.
Another feature of the night letter is that the message may be placed in the mails by the receiving office in instances where the addressee lives outside of the town wherein the receiving office is located.
