On Monday afternoon, the 20th inst., the house of Mrs. Margaret Harrison, in Joshua, was destroyed by fire, supposed to have caught from sparks, or from the chimney. The family were all from home except an old lady and two small children; and before assistance could reach the place the fire was under such headway, the wind blowing strong at the time, that it was impossible to subdue it. Everything was destroyed except a few articles on the lower floor. $150 in money, belonging to a member of the 7th cavalry, were also burned. Loss over $2,000, in house, furniture, and clothing.
