Herald to Instal New Printing Equipment
A new model of Intertype, the first six-magazine typesetting machine to be sold within the state of Wyoming, was purchased Saturday by the Herald, completing its equipment of a model weekly newspaper plant. This versatile machine will set not only the straight news matter such as you are reading at this time, but will take care of the composition of almost the entire paper, thus practically eliminating all hand composition.
The new machine will be delivered within sixty days and when installed will make the plant of the Herald as complete as that of any weekly newspaper in Wyoming. The Herald in May installed a new Lee two-revolution cylinder press for poster and half-tone work and a 32-inch Diamond cutter. The order given Saturday also included a saw and trimmer of the latest design.
The first one of the new Intertype models was shipped into Colorado two weeks ago and created a real sensation among the workers of the craft. It is believed to be the last word in type composition and so versatile as to do the work of several hand compositors.
By the installation of new and modern machinery the past five years the Herald has been enabled to increase the volume of its output and improve the quality to the extent that it leads the field without increasing its overhead appreciably or advancing the prices to its patrons.
Friends of the Herald are invited to call and see our manufacturing plant at any time and especially when the new Intertype is in operation.
