Full Text

The remarks which have been made by the editor of the American, several times, respecting Mr. Binns, we consider unjust and impolitic. Mr. Binns has always been a firm and consistent advocate of the American policy, and has rendered much service to the cause of the Administration in Pennsylvania. The Address drawn up by him in the Administration Convention at Harrisburg, is one of the best we have read (if we except that of Chaplain Johnson,) during the contest. Mr. Binns is sometimes imprudent in his political writings we are willing to allow, but when compared to Durrell Greene and Russell Jarvis, might be classed among the strongest advocates of truth and consistency.
