THE PROCEEDINGS OF YESTERDAY.

In the House, the bill imposing taxes for the support of government, and the bill appropriating the public revenue, were considered and passed. The rate of taxes has been increased, as follows:-
On lands from 8 to 10 cents on every $100 value; on houses and lots, from 2 to 24 on every 100 value; on unimproved lots, from 8 to 10 cents on every 100 value; slaves, from 25 to 30 cents per head; horses, from 6 to 7 cents. Other subjects of taxation were left at the existing rates.
