Lately the following extraordinary affair happened at Cork in Ireland. A livery servant applied to his master for his wages, and repeated it for some time. The master always refused paying him, until at last the servant, resolving not to be put off, loaded a pistol, and asked his master for the money. The master again refusing, he produced his pistol; on which the key of a bureau was delivered him, and from the drawer he took his wages to a farthing, delivered the key, and quitted the house. The master took him up for a robbery, and the servant was sentenced to be hanged. While the execution was performing the mob cut him down, and he made his escape; soon after which information was made that he was secreted in a certain house, and accordingly was found, and on being brought to the bar, and the identity of the person proved, was executed. The mob again rose, seized the informer, dismembered him, and nailed them to the prison door.
