It is Democratic in politics, and devoted to news, commerce in agriculture, science, arts, literature, education, public improvements, etc.

In addition to our experience in conducting weekly newspapers, we have secured the services of a class of contributors, who are a sufficient guarantee that the Star of the KanaWHA VALLEY will be a welcome visitor to all who may favor us with their patronage.

Chaste matter and purity of style will be studied by us,--in short, we intend to publish A HIGH TONED AND DIGNIFIED NEWSPAPER.

We have a very respectable patronage in the counties of Putnam, Kanawha, Mason, Cabell and Jackson; and, by strict adherence to the principles of Democracy, as taught by Washington, Jefferson and Jackson, hope to merit a large increase from citizens of Western Virginia.

No labor will be spared to keep our readers up with the times, in all items of news, which may be considered of general interest. The advantages of a daily mail, telegraph office in the town, and the Eastern and Western exchanges, afford great facilities for obtaining a knowledge of all passing events, which are daily occurring.

Terms,--One Dollar and Fifty Cents a year, invariably in advance.

Money for subscriptions, addressed to the Editors, may be mailed at our risk.
