Naples, 20th August. We continue to enjoy the utmost tranquility in this country. All the robbers with whom the provinces were infested, are either exterminated or have fallen into the hands of justice. The Abruzzi which was their last asylum, are completely delivered from the danger of future incursions from them, and travellers are now quite as safe there as in the environs of Naples.

The new constitution is combined in such a manner as to constitute the happiness of the kingdom; it is, therefore, generally considered as the most valuable present which king Joseph could have made to our country upon taking leave of it and nothing can equal the gratitude which is felt by all the inhabitants, both old and young, towards their former sovereign. It is remarked that the clergy are not behind hand in expressing the advantages which they conceive must result to the nation which is governed by that constitution. In the pulpit, in their pastoral letters, and in their conversations, they are eager to explain the motives of the different parts and to develope its blessings.
