Monday last arrived at this port from St. John's Nova Scotia, the sloop Mary, owned and commanded by Captain Bennison, who accumulated a large fortune by pilfering and plundering the Rebels during the late war. He has brought a cargo of Tories, consisting of about thirty-five, many of whom held commissions in the refugee corps, &c. A Capt. Steward, from Jersey, who had a company of refugee horse--a Capt. Fowler, from ditto--a Capt. Parker, who commanded a company of infantry, and one Moore, of Newtown on Long-Island, compose a part of this group--two others were put on shore as they came down the Sound--one of the Blanchards of Elizabeth Town, has his family near White-Hall; so that in a short time we may expect to see the country again over-run by these infernals; against whom the laws should guard and defend the community, as they would from the Plague or Pestilence.
