Revival in Wheelock, Vt.

Dear Brethren:

Believing that it may gladden the hearts of those who peruse your useful paper, I will briefly state, that God has powerfully revived his work in this place of late, "and many that were afar off have been made nigh by the blood of Christ." No age has been exempt from a share in this glorious work. On the 24th of March, we gathered around the water, from which the ice had been removed for the purpose, and there witnessed the baptism of two promising young men. The work still continued; and on the 6th of April the banks of the same pleasant water, were again lined with a crowd of solemn spectators, assembled to witness the burial of fifteen of their associates beneath the waves of Jordan. On the 16th of the same month, we again repaired to the water, and baptized seven; and the next day we assembled in another part of the town and eight more went forward in the same ordinance. On the 4th of May, we were again blessed with a meeting for baptism, and six more gave a brief but interesting account of the dealings of God to them. One of them was a man near seventy-nine years of age; and when he had come to the water, his strength in the Lord was great. Another was a man aged fifty-two, who for years has appeared to have but little regard for his soul but now he enjoys much of the fruits of the spirit. Another, a man aged seventy-eight, who is confined by sickness, has lately experienced a pardon of his sins, and is now rejoicing in anticipation of that crown, which he expects soon to obtain. He has not yet received baptism. Many who were in a cold state of mind have been called upon by God and the converts and have returned and speak nothing good of Babylon. Others are expected to go forward soon.

Yours in the Gospel,

OTIS F. WILLIS.
