Office for Secretary.

The council very generously decided to permit the secretary of the Laramie Council of Industry to use the office of the mayor and city clerk, at the city hall, temporarily, for the Council of Industry, the members thinking that the rooms can be spared while the industrial body is getting into shape to be able to secure a permanent office. The marshal reported the sale of the old boiler at the city park, installed for the use of the swimming pool, to E. N. Carter, Carter, Wyo., for $50. The residence belonging to the city, just west of the fire engine house, now occupied by Will Mast, is to be rented at $25 a month, the marshal to collect the rent monthly. The marshal will investigate the relative cost of metal and wooden street boxes to be used on the streets. The marshal will also see to the trimming of the trees at the city park. The clerk was directed to advertise for bids for a motorcycle for the use of the police department.

Hepner to Preside.

President Fitch of the city council, the acting mayor, was compelled to leave the meeting at this point, and Mr. Hepner, a member from the Second ward, was elected in his stead and presided until the council adjourned. The marshal informed the council that none of the delinquent plumbers of the city had filed their bonds in the sum of $500 each, after having been notified by him, and the clerk was directed to inform each by letter that they would have to present their bonds by the next meeting of the council or their licenses would be forfeited. Some of the council were in favor of extending the requirement of the ordinance for building permits to the whole city. Dr. Stevens' petition for an addition of brick back to the alley at the rear of his office and residence at 213 Second street was referred to the building committee. The five members of the council, the clerk, the marshal, the chief of the fire department and one of the city electricians were present at the meeting.
