The Ohio State Journal of the 18th, speaking of the recent meteoric showers in Guernsey county, of that State, says:
"One of the meteors has been laid upon our table by Mr. John Burdick, of this city, who dug it from its concealment in the bosom of the earth on his farm in Guernsey county. The meteor flashed upon our astonished vision, perfectly docile, a black, wedge-shaped mass of conglomerate rock, with a very mysterious smell. The meteor weighs just nine pounds, and was seen to descend like a streak of lightning, blazing like molten iron. It penetrated the earth about a foot and a half, leaving a huge hole."
