Memphis, Tenn., Feb. 22.—Street car conductors will have to keep their eyes clear in handling passengers on the Jim-Crow cars here in the future or it will cost them not only their jobs, but some real kale besides.
Mrs. Dora Brown, quite brown in complexion, last Tuesday got a consent judgment against the street car company here for $400. She sued on the ground that a conductor had mistaken her for a 'Negress' and forced her to emerge from the rear instead of the front door.
