Captain Paul, of the brig George P. Stevenson, from Rio Janeiro, whence he sailed on the 8th July, states that flour was very dull at Rio when he sailed, and that the Bakers were already supplied for ten or twelve weeks--a great quantity of flour was expected from France, and apprehensions were entertained that the La Plata markets were also overstocked--there were no recent arrivals from that River--The English brig Romulus from Gibraltar, with flour, was to proceed to La Plata, not being able to sell at Rio Janeiro. The Government had taken up vessels to take away part of the troops from Monte Video. An election for members of the Cortes, of Brazil had taken place--and that body was to assemble in the course of three months. The Deputies from Pernambuco had arrived. A fleet fitted out at Rio by the Government of Brazil had sailed to blockade St. Salvador.
We have received files of papers to the 29th July inclusive, should they contain any thing of importance it shall be given in future numbers.
