To the Inhabitants of the County of KENNEBEC.

FELLOW CITIZENS,

In a few days you will be called to the exercise of one of your most valuable privileges, the election of your rulers. In the election of Governor and Lieutenant Governor, we presume you will unite with the very great majority of the good citizens of this Commonwealth in re-choosing those men, who have served you so faithfully. The last year Governor Strong had the highly honorable number of Seventeen Thousand more than the democratic Candidate. Turn out fellow citizens, and increase this majority.

For the office of Senator, the Hon. NATHANIEL DUMMER, of Hallowell, is proposed. Is any man in the county more deserving of your confidence? He has served you in many important offices. The only thing that has ever been alleged against him is, that he was dismissed by the infuriate Postmaster General from the office, the duties of which he discharged with so much fidelity. But this will rather be a recommendation to your favor. You know this was not the desire of the people of that town, yet the great ruler of deputy postmasters affects to regard the will of the people.

In the legislature, last winter, on the important question of an alteration in the constitution of the United States, every representative from our county, voted against so injurious a measure. Our neighbors of Cumberland, were also unanimous against it; but the Senator from this county was found in favor of this daring violation. Will you not, fellow citizens, at the ensuing election, by choosing Judge Dummer, have a Senator, who will harmonize with the majority of his constituents? who will at the same time do honor to KENNEBEC.

Augusta. March 13.

[The Hon. SAMUEL S. WILD, has also been nominated for Kennebec county ]
