INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 30.—The fourteenth annual meeting of the Society of the Army of the Tennessee commenced its session in this city to-day. The day was principally devoted to organization and hearing the report of the secretary. To-night will occur the formal exercises, with the address of welcome by Mayor Caven, and followed by addresses from the president and other distinguished persons present. A grand excursion to-morrow and a banquet in the evening will close the festivities of the meeting. Among the large number present from every quarter are Gens. Sherman, Belknap, Vilas, McKee, McFeeley, Rice, Chouteau, Murray, Williamson, and many others. Gen. Sheridan was prevented from attending by an accident occurring at his residence in Chicago. A few days since a transom dropped out as he was passing through a doorway, striking him on the head and inflicting a painful but not dangerous wound.
