MRS. GWENDOLYN L. GEORGE
It is with pleasure that we, the members of the Rockdale Elementary School faculty and student body, salute our "teacher of the Year," Mrs. Gwendolyn Lampkin George.
She matriculated at Morris Brown College, Atlanta, Ga., and received the bachelor of science degree with Cum Laude honors. Mrs. George was awarded the master of arts degree from Columbia University in New York City and has done additional graduate work in Guidance and Education at Atlanta University.
She is a member of the National Education Association, Georgia Teachers and Education Association, American Teachers Association and Gate City Teachers Association. Mrs. George is also affiliated with the YWCA, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Allen Temple AME Church.
Her diligent services for five years in the capacity of seventh grade teacher, part-time counselor, test coordinator, club coordinator, chairman of the Teachers' Emergency Fund and sponsor of the Y-Teen Club, deserve recognition and praise.
Mrs. George is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. P. Lampkin of Savannah, Ga., and is married to C. C. George. She has two lovely daughters, Colette and Yvette.
As a true symbol of worthwhile ideals, we hope that Mrs. George will always maintain the personal charm that is so dear to us. May she continue to exhibit tireless efforts, resourcefulness and professional dignity in all her years of service.
